Dear Lon,
I am writing you to let you know about some new and exciting
directions at New Leaf Academy.
After several months of thought and planning, Christy and
I have decided to sell out financial interest in New Leaf
Academy. We are pleased to be teaming with Aspen Education
Group, the new owner, to continue the innovative directions
for middle school girls that have been the hallmark of our
school. Christy, Marci, Carol, Stephanie, Sara, Erin, myself
and the rest of our staff will be staying on board to help
take NLA to the next level, and Christy and I have committed
to no less than two more years at the helm. We will also
retain ownership of the New Leaf properties, including Bear
Creek Administrative Center, Angeline Young Historic School
and Tock Mesa Residential Campus.
We are looking forward to the coming year, including the
consolidation of our residential campuses at the Rock Mesa
site. The construction project at Rock Mesa broke ground
last week. The initial phase will involve the remodel and
construction of the second residential building, followed
by construction of the great hall/commercial kitchen and
the remodel/construction of the activity center. We anticipate
completion before the first of the year.
Thank you for your support and belief in New Leaf, its programs
and the growth and development of your many students. Please

to the continuation of our strong relationship with the consultant
community.
