Fire Mountain kids spend their time learning and striving to live as functional, contributing members of society free of substance abuse and self-destructive behaviors. Often, upon graduation, residents sometimes look for a fresh start including new opportunities for education. Sometimes, remaining in a structured, supportive environment, away from the "old crowd" is the best choice.
Eagle Rock is a fully funded (by Honda), award-winning boarding school for kids who want to re-engage with education after some difficult time or recent struggles that have affected their success. To get in, kids must want to be there, be ready to take on a challenging journey and commit to the schools high value standards.
A student who graduated from Fire Mountain reflected on how Fire Mountain prepared her for Eagle Rock School, "This is a challenging environment sometimes. Kids come from every walk of American life and we don't always agree. Fire Mountain helped me grow up and use my voice in an appropriate way. I can be assertive and manage myself now when I get upset."
How are the girls doing? According to Eagle Rock, "All three girls are happy, relaxed and engaged in their work. So far, so good!."
Fire Mountain Sober Homeis a residential program for boys, age 13-17, who struggle with drugs, anger, family struggles, and school and relationship issues.
