New Perspectives - Jun, 1992 Issue

Alpine Boys Ranch
Leavenworth, Washington
Doug Kessler, Assistant Administrator
(509) 763-3161

Alpine Boys Ranch is a Christian group care facility for boys ages 10-18. Tuition is based on need and commitment, and need is met through scholarships. The outdoors is very important in the boys' lives. Healing is done through three key emphases. "First, is a structured behavior modification/reality therapy based system which includes a level system, points chart, and consistent follow through with emphasis on cause and effect. Second, is a role modeling system primarily by child care staff aimed at social skills building, and a value based social outlook. Third, is a strong emphasis on positive life experiences in our total program with the goal of building self esteem."
