Second Nature works with students ages 13 to 17 with a range of emotional and behavioral issues including Depression, Learning Differences, Oppositional Defiance, Attention Deficit, and Substance Abuse Disorders. Typical students fail to respond to limits and rules, act entitled, choose the wrong friends, underachieve, have low self-esteem, experience a decline in academic performance, and may be experiencing parent-child conflict.
Our focus has been on the continued development of innovative programming in a safe, secure, and nurturing therapeutic environment. a high impact, therapeutic wilderness treatment program. After a decade and the treatment of thousands of at-risk youth, we remain committed to providing a life changing, therapeutic experience for troubled teenagers and their families.

Our unique active learning model invites young men and women to explore life's possibilities, discover who they are and what they are capable of and to become the person they were meant to be. Youth that participate in either The Journeys 10-day treks, or 45 to 60 day Wilderness Program, experience nature by way of rock climbling, rafting, horse treks, back packing, biking, handcart treks and overland adventures in our Land Rover Discoveries.
