reStart: Internet Addiction Recovery Program, which opened in July 2009, is a small residential detox program for young men and women ages 18 and over, who are struggling with addictions to the internet, gaming, texting and video games, offering 28, 45 and 90 day stays. Restart also has outpatient therapy services for young adults, ages 12-17 who are also struggling with these addictions.
Founders and partners of reStart are Hilarie Cash, Ph.D., LMHC and Cosette Dawna Rae, MSW, LSWAIC, LMPc. Hilarie is the Executive Director of reStart Internet Addiction Recovery Center and the Co-founder of Internet/Computer Addiction Services and co-developer of the Gaming and Internet Treatment Program, in addition, she is a speaker, teacher and author in this field, appearing on several television news stations. Cosette is also the Executive Director of reStart, in addition to being the founder and owner of Heavensfield Retreat Center, the residential program in the reStart services. As a former IT professional for over 20 years in computer and internet technology, Cosette uses this background experience with her experience as a psychotherapist in working with adults with this addiction.
In addition to individual and group therapy, participants are involved in a wide variety of therapies including life coaching, pet therapy, CBT, DBT, meditation, massage therapy, 12 step groups, family workshops and yoga. Located on 5 acres in western Washington, the setting of the retreat center is designated as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat.
Recreational activities include sports, a challenge course with a zip line, outdoor hiking and climbing, trail running, and trips to the city.
