Tucker Director 208-527-4753 john@wisdomranch.org www.wisdomranch.org November 2, 2011 After 10 years of 'Yurt living', Wisdom Ranch School, who is currently celebrating their 10 year anniversary, has decided to mix things up a bit. We have broken ground on "The Lodge", a 5000 square foot log home that will serve as our students' primary living facility. Complete with a commercial kitchen, the Lodge will preserve many of the advantages the yurts provided. Our students will still be closely involved with the inner workings of the building, including maintenance and additions and will assist with all phases of the construction. Students will continue to shop for their own food and cook their own meals. Situated closer to the Ranch, students will have easier access to the ranch facilities and activities. And its central location will also preserve the strong sense of community. This addition does not change our central philosophy, nor will it result in increasing our capacity. Those of you who know us have come to depend on the creativity, flexibility, and individual attention that our small size allows. With construction underway, we anticipate completion in early January. Come see it when the snow melts, or before if you happen to like snow! Wisdom Ranch School is a small alternative boarding school for young men ages 16-18 years old that combines academics, character development and actual ranch living, with 200 head of cattle, horses and mules. Students are challenged to develop motivation, independence and responsibility through life experiences woven into the daily workings of the ranch. © Copyright 2012 by Woodbury Reports, Inc. |
