WinGate is pleased to announce that Erin Grover, MSW, TRS, CTRS, has joined the WinGate Clinical Team. Erin is a wonderful addition to an expanding group of highly professional clinicians at WinGate. She brings with her a vast background in wilderness therapy including her roles as a Field Staff, Field Director, and Assistant Operations Director over the past ten years.
Having worked in wilderness therapy since 2003, Erin knows how to draw from and use the power of the wilderness in her therapeutic approach. In her clinical work she employs experiential education and theory, DBT, CBT, Systems theory, Strength-based model and motivational interviewing.
In speaking of her love of working in the wilderness, Erin said "There is nothing stale about the environment of the wilderness that alone invokes introspection, examination and enlightenment that awakens a person to themselves."
Join us in welcoming Erin to the WinGate clinical team. We are thrilled to have such an experienced individual join an already experienced team.
WinGate is excited to announce that Paula Riggs has joined our Admissions Team. Paula has spent more than fifteen years working with at risk youth and families in multiple environments. She is an experienced Admissions Counselor and Director in therapeutic middle schools, high schools, as well as young adult treatment facilities and Outdoor Wilderness programs. Her patience and true concern stem from real-life experience identifying and articulating specific therapeutic needs of struggling youth and adults. Her passion is working with families in crisis, and helping parents, adolescents and young adults heal their lives. Paula's mission is reuniting families and being instrumental in restoring health and abundance to their lives. She describes her work as living in a life raft, pulling families in, and rowing safely to the appropriate shore.
She spends free time with her husband and three boys, watching them ride motorcycles, or riding her horses, always with a phone strapped to the saddle, never too busy for a family in need.
Paula will work directly with Brad Matheson, WinGate's Director of Admissions in helping referring professionals, and the families they service, find the answers they seek.
If you have questions or would like additional information regarding Paula's role or how WinGate may fit for a specific family, please call us at 1-800-560-1599.
WinGate Wilderness Therapy WinGate has a deeply-seated belief that every person, including each of the students we serve, is capable of dramatic internal change. Part of real change is the return to, or discovery of oneself. When detrimental issues are effectively addressed, personal characteristics are uncovered, revealing a unique, talented, and gifted person.
WinGate Wilderness Therapy creates an awakening of the heart through healing the pain of the past, understanding the value of today, and gaining a sense of strength for the future.
