Willow Springs Center, a 116 bed secure residential treatment facility for children and adolescents ages 5 through 17 are now offering an intensive 20 bed DBT unit for children ages 13 to 17. This is the only fully adherent DBT program for teens in the U.S. Our specialized, DBT team therapists have been trained under Marsha Lineman, PhD, and consist of psychiatrists, therapists, nurses and direct-care coaches.

DBT is most appropriate for suicidal, self-harming teens who may be cutting, burning, carving, risk taking/impulsive behaviors such as running away from home, excessive drug use, showing eating disordered behaviors like bingeing, purging, calorie restriction, excessive exercise, or presenting with dramatic displays of emotion that appear as vengeful, spiteful, vindictive. The goal is to reduce or eliminate self-harming behaviors; therefore, reducing acute hospitalizations, decreasing chaos in relationships, increasing ability to tolerate discomfort, regulation of emotional ups and downs, improving self-worth and creating lives worth living. Using compassion to affect change, Willow Springs Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program can help patients learn unique skills to decrease intensity of emotions to include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and yoga, in a "locked" environment with highly competent clinical staff

Willow Springs Center is currently a 116-bed residential treatment facility helping children and adolescents, ages 5 through 17, recover from emotional, psychiatric, behavioral and chemical dependency problems. Since its opening, Willow Springs Center has been a leader in the Western United States in the provision of general residential treatment. The hospital provides separate living dorms for children and adolescents with no overlap in programming. Nashville-based Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) owns Willow Springs Center.
