What Not to Say
to Teens About Weight

Lon Woodbury

If you are concerned about your child's eating habits, Dr. Nina Savelle-Rocklin Psy.D. a Los Angeles Psychoanalyst and author of "Food for Thought" advised Lon Nov. 25, 2016 to "strike when the Iron is cool." She further explained when your child is reaching for a second helping is not the time to mention your concern, and probably should not be addressed directly. She continued that if you feel you need a conversation, it is best to do it later and start with a concern about their health or some other global topic. Listen to Dr. Nina explain the best ways to approach your concern about a child's weight or eating habits. [Our thanks to Rich Simpson, owner of Pathways Abroad for providing our intro music]
