Traveling to visit schools and programs is a vital part of the job of an Independent Educational Consultant. This is one of the best ways to know a school or program well enough to be able to make an appropriate recommendation. By a personal visit, a consultant can get the "feel" of how well a program is operating and the attitude of the students, which of course benefits parents we work with since a consultant can make more appropriate recommendations to the parents we work for. In addition to a site visit, important information also comes from the results of the annual survey of the leading Consultants we conduct, reports and feedback from parents, our own personal experience placing previous clients, and the Independent Educational Consultants Association members and its ListServe.
