TreeHouse Learning Community is delighted to announce the addition of Mary Hickey as Executive Director. Along with a passion for working with young adults and families Mary brings 15 years of experience working in residential treatment and mental health programing. Her previous work experience includes positions as a senior field instructor for a therapeutic wilderness program and teacher and facilitator at a residential treatment center. Most recently Mary served as the Admission Director and Assistant Head of School at Spring Ridge Academy, where she was employed for 12 years.
Mary received her B.A. in Adventure Education and Physical Education from Prescott College and her M.Ed. in Counseling and Human Relations from Northern Arizona University. Mary's work at the TreeHouse Learning Community includes helping families determine whether TreeHouse is an appropriate placement for their son or daughter, and working with students and parents as coach and mentor.
The TreeHouse Learning Communityis a small, co-educational residence and study support program for college students, ages 18-30, who are committed to a path of recovery, self-discovery and higher education. The primary purpose of the TreeHouse is to help our students stay connected to their own recovery and their sober peers while successfully entering or returning to college life. The TreeHouse's defining feature is its commitment to assisting sober students in identifying their passion and talents and using that passion to guide and energize their studies and direct them onto their path ahead.
