Trails Carolina is proud to announce the acquisition of a new property to host the Trails Family Institute. The property in located in Black Mountain, NC on the former Stone Mountain School site. The Trails Family Institute will be led by Jason McKeown, Director of Family Services.

Jason Specializes In: Co-Parenting, Communication, Divorced and Blended Family Issues, Sibling Dynamics, Family History of Addiction/Codependency, Anxiety and/or Depression, Grief and Loss, Adoption Dynamics, and Intergenerational Challenges.

Before joining the Trails team, Jason had worked with adolescents and families in a number of therapeutic settings and programs-including residential programs, schools, outpatient, and private practice. He has been working with families and adolescents for almost a decade. He is passionate about the lasting effect clinical excellence and wilderness therapy can have in changing the course of a teenager's and family's life. Jason has lived all over the east coast and the south. He has a variety of hobbies and interests including photography, traveling, learning about human behavior and the brain, and volunteering at both animal rescue programs and the Red Cross. Most of all, he loves traveling with his wife and being a dad.

About the Trails Family Institute:
In our experience, students and families see tremendous progress in the wilderness setting, but may struggle to bring those changes home. At Trails Wilderness Treatment Center, we focus intently on involving the family throughout their child's time at our program. This has tremendous impact of improving the likelihood of long-term change for the child and the entire family.

The Trails Family Institute is a one-of-a-kind experiential learning opportunity that is designed to provide concrete skills and training for the entire family. Change doesn't occur overnight and so Family Camp provides an incredible opportunity to understand how to make change last and re-connect family members.

For more information, please contact Trails Family Institute at: 828-885-5920.

Trails Carolina is a wilderness therapy program based just outside of Asheville, North Carolina that offers a multi-dimensional wilderness therapy model to troubled adolescents, ages 10-17.
