Trails Carolina continues to pioneer the use of intentional family work with a recent addition to our program: Family Graduation Camp.

Family Graduation Camp is a unique, experience that:

  • Uses a four-day adventure therapy model to reunify family and celebrate the process of graduation

  • Transitions families gradually from wilderness to the next "real world" phase of their life with the support of therapists and staff

  • Employs both activities and physical setting, participants literally shift from the structure of wilderness to the structure of their home or next placement

  • Transitions empowerment from the Trails team to parents

  • Invites all family members to participate, including siblings

  • Individualizes the treatment experience for each family

  • Is directed by MA level therapists

  • Has been up and running for four months

  • This experience teaches parents, students and siblings alike to use new, effective tools in everyday situations. With therapists and staff throughout the camp, we create a safe and constructive environment for families to reconnect without the distractions of "real" life.

    Parents say:
"Family Grad Camp has helped our family begin the next part of our life in a positive manner. Family Grad Camp was an incredible experience for our family."

"Family grad camp was, for me, a very important transition piece. This experience helped us to begin the transition into everyday real world experiences with our son. It provided us baby steps, with guidance, rather than just throwing us back into the real world."

"The entire experience allowed us to re-enter and reconnect."

Trails Carolina is a wilderness program that works with boys and girls ranging from 10-13 years and 13-17. The clinically proven methods work exceptionally well with: Attachment, Family conflict, Low self-esteem, Depression, Anxiety, Defiant behavior, Adoption, Substance abuse, Manipulative behavior, Poor academic achievement, Learning differences, ADHD, and/or Trauma.
