Trails Academy is a transitional therapeutic boarding environment for boys, grades 9-12. Trails Academy offers parents a real choice when looking for a progressive and caring environment to address educational and developmental needs. Having spent over 20 years working with struggling teens I witnessed countless times when parents had to make the decision to enter their children in long-term programs because their son simply needed a little more time to internalize the skills they had learned at wilderness. Typically these boys were immature, struggling with inappropriate behaviors and simply weren't ready to live lives with integrity and purpose. Trails Academy will offer a flexible and personalized option to help students integrate lessons from wilderness into their daily lives. Trails Academy provides young men with an academic program that includes:
Horseback Riding, Hiking, Rock Climbing, Rafting, and Camping are all part of the experiential programming. The Trails Academy Campus consists of a clasroom, a dormitory for 18 young men, dining hall, living area and 500 acres of beautiful forested land with a lake and surrounded by thousands of acres in Dupont State Park. For more information about TRAILS Academy please contact myself or JD Daubs our Admissions Director. We are thrilled to be able to offer this service to families transitioning from wilderness programs and primary treatment. Sincerely, Graham Shannonhouse Executive Director Trails Academy is a post wilderness, therapeutic, outdoor school for troubled boys, focusing on academic credit recovery, robust family therapy and parent education, and transitional planning and services. © Copyright 2012 by Woodbury Reports, Inc. |
