Summer is the time of exciting transitions for Spring Ridge Academy students and staff. We say farewell to many students and families to begin the next step in life, transitioning to college, home and boarding schools. The following colleges and universities are welcoming our recent high school graduates: Boston College, Berklee School of Music, Lindenwood University, Austin College, Georgia State University, Yavapai College and Northern Arizona University.

With gratitude for his many contributions, Spring Ridge says farewell to Gary Hees after 9 years of service. Gary is retiring from Spring Ridge Academy this month.

Nancy Kelly, LPC, a clinician who exemplifies best practices and sound clinical practice, has moved into the role Clinical Director. Nancy began working at Spring Ridge in 2005. Over the course of Nancy's tenure, she has worked with many students and their families. Some of Nancy's areas of clinical specialty consist of multiple trauma-focused techniques, extensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing techniques and its applications including addiction and compulsivity, and ego state work, Post Induction Therapy, Eriksonian Hypnosis, and trauma focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She brings a broad experience of psychological testing, adolescent and family therapy and - most importantly- has recently been promoted to grandmother. If you have not met Nancy, she will be presenting, healing the Child Within: Integrating Cognitive, Ego State, and EMDR Therapies in the Treatment of Complex Trauma, at IECA in San Diego this fall.
Nancy's email address is nkelly@springridgeacademy.com.

Susan Coatney has been a strong force in the Spring Ridge Academy leadership and admissions office for over 10 years. She is moving out of the admissions office to serve as our Administrator. She will oversee best practices, human resources, support services and special projects. Susan excels at project organization and is an asset to our team. Susan's two recent projects include enhancing our outcome data collection and research initiative.

Kate Deily is joining the admission office at Spring Ridge. Kate is returning enthusiastically to be part of helping parents through the tough decision to choose a program for their daughter. Previously Kate has held the roles of Travel Coordinator, Registrar, Administrative Assistant, Community Life Director, and student in 1997. Kate's passion for helping families, teenage girls and being part of Spring Ridge is contagious. Kate holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Kate and Suzie Courtney, Admissions Director, will attend the Wilderness Symposium and IECA this fall. She is looking forward to meeting all of our colleagues. You can reach Kate at kdeily@springridgeacademy.com and 928-899-5839.

We welcome a new member to our faculty, Curtis Pickup. Curtis arrives at Spring Ridge with over 40 years of mathematic instruction in junior and high schools. He holds his Bachelors in Education from the University of Massachusetts. An attempt at retiring brought him from 35 years of teaching in Connecticut to Sedona. Once in Arizona, he was pulled back into education and taught at another therapeutic school in Arizona. We welcome Curtis's passion for developing mathematic minds and helping students develop into lifelong learners.

Spring Ridge Academy is an all-girl, therapeutic boarding school serving students ages 13 - 17 in grades 9 - 12. SRA combines an empowering emotional growth program with a sophisticated therapeutic approach and a rigorous college prep curriculum. The entire family is included in the process, creating an atmosphere of change, collaboration and hope.
