Silverado Academy Celebrates Year Three

October 31st 2009 marks the anniversary of Silverado’s third year of serving boys, ages 13 through 17, through our model of Work, Love, and Play.

We feel grateful and honored to be working with so many incredibly supportive professionals in our quest to help families. During a recent strategic retreat, our management team took time to reflect on our progress, our program, and our purpose. We evaluated Silverado’s current services. We discussed ways to better serve our students. We explored potential areas for future growth and development.

The results of this recent three-year “review” have been phenomenal:

We will shortly be adding a girls’ program (and a gorgeous girls’ campus) to our service offerings. The girls program will be based on our work, love, and play model and will offer the same high quality of care that our referral sources have come to expect from our boys’ program. We will maintain the value and importance of initial single gender programming: however, we recognize the importance, eventually (once a student exhibits improved social skills, greater maturity, and enhanced self-control), of re-integrating a student into a “co-ed world”. We have also been encouraged by many of our current referral sources to develop a Silverado program for girls. We have found a beautiful secluded setting in which to serve this new group of young people. We will begin accepting applications for enrollment on October 15, 2009.

Secondly, we realized that the name “Boys Ranch” does not effectively reflect our program and our vision. We have changed our name to “Silverado Academy”. This name more accurately reflects our licensure as a therapeutic boarding school and our proud reputation as a supportive yet rigorous academic environment, balanced with daily structure and intensive therapeutic services.

The management and staff at Silverado express its heartfelt appreciation for your ongoing support; you have been a critical component to our success! We are thrilled that Silverado continues to grow and meet the needs of parents, their sons, and now their daughters! If you have not yet been out to the “Academy”, we would love to have you visit. Please contact Denise to arrange for a tour. If you currently have a student at Silverado, please feel free to contact us regarding any concerns, suggestions, or comments.

Silverado Academy is an owner- operated, licensed therapeutic boarding school for boys& girls, ages 13-18. We have one of the most seasoned and committed management teams in the industry. The academy is located in magnificent Bryce Canyon Country, just minutes away from numerous national parks and prime wilderness areas. Silverado utilizes a relationship-based model that integrates real world skills through experiential therapy, challenging academic curriculum, and parent-student- family workshops
