Announces Promotions

We are very pleased to announce the promotions of Mike Gurr, MS, MA, LPC, to Clinical Director, and Rodney Adams, MS, to Program Director.

Mike holds two masters degrees, one in professional counseling, the other in exercise and sport science. He has facilitated and directed emotional growth seminars for thousands of families. Previously, he worked with high school and college teams and coaching staffs, and was a counselor and adjunct faculty member for a community college where he was involved in career counseling, individual counseling and group work. He taught classes in stress management, peak performance in activated learning, career exploration and study skills.

Mike had a private practice in Phoenix for three years serving athletes and families. He is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Arizona, has received certifications as a family plan counselor and Arbinger facilitator, and is a certified Daring Way™ facilitator. Mike is a sought after speaker for various groups and associations on topics such as relationships, communication, parenting, overcoming doubt, self-concept, behavior change, the power of belief, and strengthening one's mind.

Rodney Adams holds a masters in counseling psychology. He has experience in substance abuse treatment, mental health residential programs, and residential programs for adults with developmental disabilities. Previously, he worked for a private substance abuse agency, providing treatment in both outpatient and intensive outpatient programs.

Rodney uses an eclectic approach to therapy, understanding that each individual is unique. His main emphasis is on helping teenage girls understand their self-limiting thoughts and beliefs, which often lead to behaviors with undesirable consequences.
