Maria Kaufman comes to us with a vast wealth of personal and professional experience that makes her a significant asset as we begin to broaden the scope of services we provide to parents and families. Beyond her own personal journey with a child in treatment, she has held multiple positions that make her an excellent candidate to take on this new endeavor. Marla will be spearheading the following projects:
- Create a Parent Mentor Program that will pair new 2N parents with those who have more experience and can offer support;
- Establish and build an endowed scholarship fund for deserving families to be utilized for wilderness and aftercare options;
- Launch localized 2N parent support groups in various regions to facilitate a positive ongoing community as families go through the process of wilderness, aftercare and post-aftercare;
- Continue to organize semi-annual National Parent Seminars in various regions of the country;
- Create live web cast parent meetings that will be facilitated by Dr. Brad Reedy for continued support and education during the wilderness process;
