We are pleased to announce that David Scully, LCSW, CADC, has accepted the position of Clinical and Family Services Manager.

In this newly created role he will oversee our clinical services on campus, direct our parent education programming, and facilitate our parent weekends. David will also be our parent liaison, working closely with parents and sharing campus updates and other news. We are very excited about the opportunity this new position presents for us to have another experienced therapist on our team and for our ability to serve our families.

David comes to us from Catherine Freer Wilderness Therapy Programs where he held the position of Coordinating Therapist for three years, a role that involves frequent communication and counseling with parents.

The strong clinical foundation of Santiam Crossing School and the emphasis on creating a holistic solution that includes the child's family as an active participant is what attracted David to our school. David has worked with adolescents for nearly 15 years in a variety of settings including hospital and residential facilities, an experiential day school, therapeutic wilderness programs, and an emotional growth boarding school. David received his master's degree in Social Work from the University of New England and has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies. He also is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. In addition, he too is a parent and has both a son and a daughter.

David already has a number of ties to Santiam Crossing School. During his tenure at Catherine Freer Wilderness Therapy Programs, David spent a number of months at Santiam Crossing working as a campus therapist in addition to his other responsibilities. He has facilitated clinical trainings for our staff and is acquainted with many of our staff members. David has also had the opportunity to work with a number of our students that came to us from the Catherine Freer program. Moreover, David's wife, Dana, was our campus nurse for a time until she left to continue her education and obtain a master's degree in Nursing.

Please join us in welcoming David. He will begin transitioning into this position immediately. He will be meeting all of our parents at the June parent weekend. Prior to that he will be placing calls to all families.

If you have any questions or comments, we welcome the opportunity to hear from you. Kirsen can be reached via e-mail at kirsen@santiamcrossing.com and Dan at dancoyle@santiamcrossing.com and both via telephone at 503-394-4294.
