SUWS Adolescent and Youth Programs is pleased to announce Dan Kemp as Director of Admissions. With over 15 years experience working with adolescents and young adults Dan brings an invaluable wealth of knowledge and experience to this role. His experience includes being involved in startup Residential Treatment Programs, Transitional Therapeutic Boarding Schools, Academic Boarding Academies, and Outdoor Therapeutic Programs. Dan's leadership and growth through these experiences continues to drive his passion and dedication for the students, families, and professionals we serve.
Dan's experience and leadership is a strong addition to the experienced team at SUWS and Kathy Rex is excited for the partnership. "His personality, enthusiasm, and solid business ethics make him a perfect fit!" says Rex.
SUWS Adolescent and Youth Program specialize in helping struggling teens ages 11-13 and 14-17 with behavioral, social, familial, academic and emotional problems. Operating in southern Idaho since 1981, SUWS helps young people quickly and effectively identify and work through internal conflicts and emotional obstacles that have kept them from responding to parental efforts, schools and treatment. SUWS provides families with a safe and immediate intervention with comprehensive individualized treatment plans and a flexible length of stay with the minimum being 4 weeks. The intensity of the outdoor environment and experiential learning allow students to recognize and build upon their own sense of self-worth and direction as they learn the value of being an individual, belonging to a family and contributing to a community. SUWS focuses on helping families and provides guidance and support for parents and an opportunity for a family intervention during their child's SUWS experience.
Dan's expertise in working with diverse family dynamics and needs as well his highly intense and committed professionalism will provide excellent support and guidance to the many professionals, and families seeking assistance at SUWS.
