SUWS Adolescent and Youth Program is pleased to announce Vincent Schmidt as the new Director of Admissions.
After receiving his master's degree in counseling from Eastern Michigan University, Vince began his career as a primary therapist at a youth program in 1995, managing peer groups and providing both individual and group therapy. He then joined Aspen Education Group's Academy at Swift River as a founding therapist and worked his way up to become one of the program's clinical managers. Vince eventually discovered a passion for admissions, and became the Admissions Director at a therapeutic boarding school before joining SUWS.
In his twelve years in the profession, Vince has often worked with SUWS graduates and has seen the fruits of the program firsthand. He brings keen clinical and educational understanding and a strong sense of service to the Director of Admissions position.
SUWS Adolescent and Youth Program specialize in helping struggling teens ages 14-17 with behavioral and emotional problems. Operating in southern Idaho since 1981, SUWS helps young people identify and work through internal conflicts and emotional obstacles that have kept them from responding to parental efforts, schools and treatment. SUWS wilderness programs provide families with a safe and immediate intervention with individualized treatment plans and a flexible length of stay.
