Those living with disordered eating and body image issues hear so many conflicting voices it is difficult to know what to believe. At times they may even wonder who they are. Their identity can feel lost in calories, numbers on the scale and habitual behaviors.
Additionally, as professionals trying to help these men and women, we may find ourselves experiencing much of the same confusion. How do we help them recover a sense of who they are from a Biblical perspective? Do we build self-esteem or rebuke dangerous behaviors and outright denial?
