Pure Life Aspiro is a dynamic, therapeutic, transitional or gap experience for young adult males and females operating in the beautiful Pacific coast mountains, villages, rivers and beaches of Costa Rica. Young adults who have successfully completed a wilderness or adventure therapy program and needs some transitional assistance before moving into lower levels of care... or those who need a therapeutically focused, transformative experience, but don't require a crisis intervention, benefit tremendously from rich and awe inspiring therapeutic adventures, service work and cultural immersion experiences.

"We couldn't be more excited to have John joining the team in Costa Rica. I couldn't hope for a better clinical leader and therapist to assure quality therapeutic services for our students and to deliver the highest levels of support for families and referring Professionals. John's reputation for providing impactful therapy and connecting with his students is so strong. He is just the kind of dynamic, energetic, mature leader we were looking for in Costa Rica." Said Gordon Day, Ph.D., Executive Director of Aspiro.

"John gets his students on a level that is seldom seen. His passion for deep clinical work and quality therapeutic programming is unparalleled." Said Andrew Taylor, Executive Director of Pure Life Aspiro.

John's experience exceeds 25 years of providing assessment and therapeutic services to adolescents and their families in juvenile justice, psychiatric hospitals and wilderness therapy settings. He holds a BA in Psychology from Ohio State University and an MS in Clinical Counseling from the University of Dayton. He works with a very wide variety of adolescent and young adult issues, especially adoption, loss, grief, identity, and attachment issues. John brings a unique perspective to working with young people who are trying to navigate their way through life's challenges. He believes that connection is essential in any therapeutic relationship. Establishing a relationship is key in getting to the core issues.

John stated, "I feel honored to join the team of professionals at Aspiro and I look forward to being part of something that is on the cutting edge of outdoor treatment. The people at Aspiro have been so genuine and welcoming to me. Everything about Aspiro that I have experienced is top notch. A company is only as good as their people and that is what makes this opportunity so exciting for me."

In John's spare time he loves to mountain bike, hike, snowboard, cross-country ski, build computers, and play guitar. He is a musician on the side and has been in many bands over the years. John was a Mountain Bike guide and ran a Mountain Bike club for 10 years. He has 2 dogs who get lots of love and affection!

Join us in welcoming John to the Pure Life Aspiro team!
