Media Invited To Ponca Pines Academy

Ponca Pines Academy hosts a media kick-off event: Ponca Pines Academy, located in Omaha, Nebraska, serving young women ages 17 - 19, opened its doors to the media during a special open house event on August 11, 2008. The event allowed members of the media access to the new, private-pay, 5,238 sq. ft. academy, which will house a new Therapeutic Boarding School.

Ponca Pines Academy is a gender specific treatment facility specializing in the older adolescent population. The student profile will include young women with adoption/attachment issues, substance use, trauma, mental health issues, as well as other struggles young women face. Ponca Pines Academy offers a transitional component to assist young women as they enter adulthood. Ponca Pines Academy offers an extensive academic program including a college preparatory curriculum through the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.

Ponca Pines Academy is now open and accepting applications. The Academy has recent brought on board Kelly Lewis, MEd, Lead Teacher, Krystal Boose as the Paraeducator, and Carrie Iwen as the academy's Program Coordinator.
