Point School is a supportive, residential community serving 17 to 24 year-old young men with cognitive, attentional, and executive functioning challenges, and those struggling to take the next step into young adulthood. It is a well-supervised residential community focused on students completing their educational goals whether that's high school graduation or taking college courses. Point School provides a student-centered and individualized environment that is safe and structured. The school has a very solid staff with a certified K-12 principal directing the academics, a licensed Clinical Social Worker directing each student's therapy, and degreed Puerto Rican Mentors who serve as guides to the local culture. Students experience a "semester abroad" experience without leaving the United States. During the past year, Point School students and staff have provided many hours of ongoing community service and participated in numerous local activities and events. Students received driver's licenses, open water scuba certification, graduated High School and were accepted to college. Point School has 4 openings for students who will benefit from continued family and individual therapy, round the clock support staff, individualized academics, and developing learning to contribute to a community. © Copyright 2012 by Woodbury Reports, Inc. |
