PlusFour Solutions is a clinical practice specializing in the assessment of school-aged children. This group provides psychological testing to meet various treatment and therapeutic needs. Their analyses can be used to answer many questions concerning development, clinical diagnosis, educational and learning needs, and to aid in treatment and placement decisions. They also do evaluations as part of the limited forensic work they do for the legal system.

Dr. Steve Newton has been in practice in the Bay Area since 1982, and has built a “distinguished reputation” for clinical assessment and testing. He spent several years as senior staff psychologist and clinical director of two child and adolescent psychiatric hospitals in San Jose, before opening his private office in 1991. In the past 10 years he has focused on testing, and has administered over 2,500 test batteries.

Melissa Sorci, a Master’s level clinician, has worked as a therapist and an educational consultant. She has worked in several different therapeutic and consulting settings, including school-based counseling and private practice, and is currently working on her doctoral studies in clinical psychology.
