The programs of The Pinnacle Schools are pleased to announce the following new staff appointments.
Zane Slocumb, L.P.C., N.C.C., D.A.P.A. has been appointed as the Clinical Director of the Elk River Wilderness Challenge, Elk River Lifestyle Challenge and Elk River Academy. Slocumb earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English from the University of Mobile. He also holds a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Alabama A&M University. He has provided direct care to teens and adults since 1989 in residential, outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. He is a licensed professional counselor, a nationally certified counselor and diplomat of the American Psychotherapy Association.
Bonnie Robertson, RN, MSN, CRNP has been named Director of Medical Services. Robertson is a Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years experience. She has specialized in wellness programming, health and physical education, cardiac rehabilitation, among many other areas of healthcare. Her credentials include American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Specialist, licensed provider of Shapedown Weight Management Programs for children & adolescents, Wilderness Advanced Life Support certification, American Heart Association BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications. Robertson played an integral role in the creation of the Elk River Lifestyle Challenge program, a new teen weight management program focusing on teaching teens and their families the importance of nutrition and exercise in their daily routine.
Ann Corley, B.A. has been named the Director of Marketing and Admissions of The Pinnacle Schools. Corley graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Marketing. She has been involved in numerous philanthropic activities including: Chairman of the Board for The Huntsville Museum of Art, member of the board of directors for the State Council for Women in the Arts, member of Women's Advisory Board for Huntsville Hospital, Director of Adult Christian Education at Church of the Nativity, Botanical Gardens, and the Huntsville Public Library.
Carah Lynn Billups, B.A., M.A., M.Ed. has been named Academic Administrator for The Pinnacle Schools and Elk River Academy. Billups graduated from Millsap's College with a bachelor's degree in English. She earned her master's degrees in English and Education from Louisiana State University. Billups taught in the public schools of Louisiana and Florida before moving to Huntsville. Billups has been teaching and tutoring students for 5 years. Billups' experience includes teaching students of all ages in multiple disciplines, as well as students with learning disabilities and other behavioral needs.
