Penrith Farms recently had the ASVAB administered on site. The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. It also has a career counseling component that most people are unaware of.

The ASVAB test measures eight areas of knowledge and skill, combines those measurements with an interest questionnaire, and provides the test taker with a list of career fields that they would be suited for and enjoy. After test administration, test takers have the opportunity to have a one-on-one counseling session to go over the results. Typically, due to the time constraints in a regular high school setting, counselors may only get 10 - 15 minutes to talk to the student. At Penrith Farms students may take as much time as they need. We plans on offering test administration twice a year in April and October.

At Penrith Farms we strive to give young adults the confidence needed to succeed in an increasingly competitive society. Confidence is acquired through the development of self-worth, work ethics, and interpersonal communication skills. With confidence young adults will be better equipped to manage their own affairs and, in the end, become productive self-motivating responsible members of society.

The program is open to visits. To schedule a visit, contact Heather at 509-447-0665 or via their website at www.penrithfarms.com.

Penrith Farms is a co-ed experiential learning program for young adults, 18 and over, that need instruction and guidance in their lives.
