Krissy Pozatek, LICSW, who works with parents of struggling teens and young adults in her parent counseling practice: Parallel Process, founded in 2006, has recently written a book for parents who are looking to help their family stay and grow together called "The Parallel Process: Growing Alongside Your Adolescent or Young Adult in Treatment".

This "essential primer" shows parents of teens, young adults and pre-teens how they can help their children by "tuning into emotions, setting limits, not rushing to the rescue and letting them take responsibility for their actions, in addition to recognizing their own patterns of: emotional withdrawal, workaholic tendencies and learning to surrender their lives and personalities to parenting.

Krissy has over 15 years of experience in the wilderness therapy and adolescent treatment field, first as a wilderness instructor at Aspen Achievement Academy, then joining the therapeutic ranch school, Montana Academy. She then went on to complete her graduate training in clinical social work at Smith College, School for Social Work and NM Highlands University. Krissy returned to wilderness therapy as a field therapist at Aspen Achievement Academy, Second Nature Wilderness Program in Duchesne and True North Wilderness Program in Waitsfield, VT.
