Oxford Academy

The Oxford Academy is a boarding school for young men ages 14-20 whose needs have so far not been met by traditional classroom environments. These boys have experienced educational failures because of “scholastic difficulties” caused by learning disabilities, an inability to concentrate, feelings of insecurity, lack of motivation, and minor emotional, personality or social difficulties.

The unique use of Individualized Instruction at Oxford Academy’s, combined with a student-teacher ratio of one-to-one, and a learning pace created specifically for each student, enables the boys to gain the study skills and the knowledge necessary for success in college. Historically, students who have successfully graduated from an emotional growth school or program have done well at Oxford Academy.

The Oxford Academy is accredited by the New England Association of Schools, approved by the State of Connecticut Department Education, and is a member of the Educational Records Bureau, and the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools.
