Program Description:
Open Sky's holistic wilderness program assists struggling teens, young adults and their families in discovering their true nature as honorable, capable, worthy people with lasting and healthy coping skills. We do this by integrating the best of contemporary clinical modalities, healthy living, and mindfulness practices of yoga and meditation alongside the best of conventional wilderness therapy. Open Sky offers programs for teenage boys and girls ages 13 to 17 and men and women ages 18 to 28. We also recognize the integral role of the family, and involve families of currently enrolled students in a comprehensive range of offerings over the duration of the program.

Job Description:
This is a full-time, year-round position. It involves providing Family Quests - intensive family therapy in the field 3 days/week (2 overnights) and parent coaching over the phone while not in the field. Primary responsibilities include facilitating Family Quests, offering weekly phone sessions with parents, and participating as a member of an integrated treatment team. Position reports directly to the Family Services Supervisor.

Min. requirements:
PhD/Master's therapist licensed or license-eligible in UT and CO. Prior experience: clinical work with adolescents, young adults, and families. Strong preference for clinician with Family Systems background and prior wilderness experience. Must be open to research-based mindfulness aspect of program, computer literate, have excellent communication and writing skills, and have a passion for adolescent and family treatment.

Pay:

Job Description:
This is a full-time, year-round position. It involves working 2 days in the field (1 overnight) and 1.5 days in the office. Primary responsibilities include facilitating the graduation experience, teaching mindfulness and meditation to large groups of clients and parents, and providing brief follow-up phone sessions to recent graduates and their families.

Min. requirements:
Minimum of three years of Wilderness Therapy field experience or Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (or related field). Prior experience: clinical work with adolescents, young adults, and families. Must be skilled in teaching and leading mindfulness exercises, computer literate, have excellent communication and writing skills, and have a passion for adolescent and family treatment.
