Northwest Academy Naples, ID Students Attend Lecture By President Of Liberia Contact: Julia Andrick Director of Outreach 208-267-7522, Ext 4024 julia.andrick@uhsinc.com www.nwacademy.net Northwest Academy students attended a presentation by Africa's first female Head of State and Nobel Peace Prize winner Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Gonzaga University hosted President Sirleaf who spoke about her efforts to bring peace and economic growth to the war-torn nation of Liberia. She addressed the eradication of the Ebola virus and her work to advocating for women's rights across the globe. The lecture was an opportunity for Northwest Academy students to be exposed to a world leader as well as to experience campus life at Gonzaga University. Northwest Academy is a therapeutic boarding school specializes in working with older adolescents ages 16-18 who address the issues that are causing them to struggle through participation in an extensive therapeutic and substance abuse program, receive their high school diploma, and with assistance from our college advisor are accepted to colleges and universities across the nation. The academy's focus is on accelerated college-preparatory academics, clinic services and support, substance abuse treatment and character development. An appropriate candidate is an adolescent at-risk of not graduating high school due to mental health, behavioral and/or substance abuse issues.
