Northwest Academy is offering a wonderful selection of adventure education opportunities and more for families and students alike this holiday season.
"Holidays at a therapeutic boarding school can be difficult at times, which is why we focus on providing numerous enrichment and adventure education opportunities. The goal, as always, is to ensure our students feel safe, loved and nurtured," explained Director of Admissions Brandi Elliot.
For students, plus families that are spending time on campus with their child, we have a selection of adventure education offerings from snowshoeing and cross country skiing excursions that involve stopping to build a fire and enjoy hot cocoa made using freshly fallen snow. In addition, we will be giving a lesson on avalanche safety, snow science, and how to use a compass to shoot bearings and venture into unexplored areas.
And, while classes are not in session during the holidays, we do have academic faculty on hand to work with students that are working on transcript repair via directed study and those student enrolled in college courses who want to get ahead.
At Northwest, we always pride ourselves on the food our Executive Chef prepares for students. On Christmas Eve, he offers a feast that would be served at a four-star restaurant. Here's what's on the menu:
