NorthStar Center, the Oregon-based transitional living program for young adults seeking drug and alcohol recovery support, is pleased to announce new Admissions Director, Chesley Strowd.

Chesley received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Mississippi. She has worked with families in crisis and in the public relations and marketing fields. Prior to joining NorthStar, Chesley worked closely with families and professionals for nearly six years at a therapeutic boarding school. Her volunteer experience includes working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Originally from the Mississippi Delta, Chesley moved to Bend six years ago for the beautiful weather and outdoor recreation.

"We are excited to welcome Chesley to NorthStar," said the program's Executive Director, Sean Fievet. "We are confident that her experience and dedication to assisting families in need will make this an easy transition, and believe Chesley will be a great asset to our program."

NorthStar Center is a transitional living program specializing in assisting young adults ages 17.5-24 years with substance abuse recovery. Located in Bend, Oregon, all students receive personal academic assistance, individual and group counseling, and ongoing support in becoming responsible young adults. The program stresses recovery with responsibility and incorporates recreational opportunities to challenge students to think for themselves and enhance their recovery success.
