New Vision Wilderness
Launches New Northern Lights
Wisconsin Winter Program

New Vision Wilderness has adapted its Wisconsin traditional full expedition model for the winter months, calling the new base-camp program Northern Lights.

Northern Lights, NVW's Wisconsin winter curriculum, is a base-camp model featuring clinical immersion, wellness and adventure trips rotating between NVW's magnificent Lodge and two scenic wilderness cabins. Students sleep in heated cabins and at expedition sites and experience the incredible beauty and stillness of a North Woods winter.

Students EXPLORE their inner selves a NVW's iconic North Woods Lodge, which serves as the wellness center for Northern Lights. The Lodge focuses on visual and written arts, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, mind/body awareness, and healthy living. The Lodge has full amenities including central heat, a large stone fireplace, beautiful views of Wolf Lake, and an open-air kitchen for cooking programs.

Students EMBRACE relationships at Salem Lake Cabin. Complete with a wood-burning stove and within a stone's throw from the lake, Salem Lake is home to our new Canine Therapy program. Clinical work addresses attachment difficulties, attunement, intimacy, and the 5 Love Languages.

Students ENGAGE in winter adventures at the Outpost. NVW's inspiring Outpost hosts the environmental and adventure based components of Northern Lights. Dog sledding, ice fishing, skiing and snowshoeing are all focal points. Clients experience the best of both worlds at this site: solitude within the national forest and immediate vehicle access for their safety.
