New Vision Wilderness, a premier wilderness therapy program for teens, preteens and young adults with locations in Bend, Oregon and the Northwood's of Wisconsin is pleased to announce that it is now enrolling adolescent girls in it's Oregon program.
"For the past eight years we have offered separate adolescent girl programming," explained Drew Hornbeck, New Vision President and Co-Founder of the program, "but until recently it was limited to our Wisconsin location."
With the increasing popularity of its compassionate, trauma-informed treatment model and an exceptional reputation for cutting-edge clinical interventions, New Vision has experienced an increasing demand for gender specific girl programming on the West Coast. We are very pleased to meet the needs of our West Coast families and offer a program that is based on the unique clinical and developmental needs of our girls, said Steve Sawyer, New Vision Chief Clinical Officer and Co-Founder.
The program will be lead by Senior Therapist Liz Deardorff, a Licensed Social Worker with certifications in EMDR and Brainspotting, both innovative and powerful tools to support issues around trauma, attachment and anxiety. Standing under the shade of a Douglas Fir tree Liz reflected on her six years at the program.
"We're providing an empowering and safe place for girls to come together, make connections and heal the underlying aspects of their pain. We think this is a very special opportunity for them and we treat it like a gift".
New Vision is known across the country for implementing leading edge therapies that address the full body and mind. Therapies center around healing the effects of early childhood, complex trauma particularly amongst adopted youth. Focused attention is given to alleviating traumatic stress and anxiety through evidence-based interventions and attunement based therapies in three individual therapy sessions per week.
New Vision Wilderness is a therapeutic wilderness challenge program for adolescent boys and young adults 18-24. They offer wilderness therapy interventions such as wilderness immersion, extended expeditions, family therapy, mentoring, and 1:1 intensives for struggling teens, young adults, and families.
