Dr. Karen Fitzhugh, Head of the King George School, is delighted to announce, and the school community is pleased to welcome Rebecca Vieth-Albrecht, MA, LPC as Dean of the school. Rebecca will be responsible for oversight of the Academic, Counseling, and Health Services departments and staff of the school. The Dean of the School is a senior leadership position, which reports directly to Dr. Fitzhugh. As part of the senior leadership team, Rebecca will be working closely with other senior leaders to find creative ways to enhance clinical and academic services at the school.
Rebecca comes to the King George School (KGS) with fifteen years of experience directing residential and school programs that provide emotional and behavioral support to adolescents. She has relocated to Vermont from Missouri with her husband, and two children. She obtained her Master's in Counseling Psychology from Webster University and has been in private practice for the last eight years. In addition to her clinical experience she was worked as principal of a school in Missouri for the last four years.
Regarding Rebecca's appointment, Dr. Fitzhugh said, "We are so privileged to have someone with Rebecca's experience come to the King George School. Her experience in developing and managing robust clinical services will help guide KGS in being recognized as the therapeutic boarding school of choice for referring professionals and families. Her senior level experience in managing educational services will allow us to continue to be known for our unmatched arts curriculum."
