New Executive Director of NATSAP Announced

Dear NATSAP Members and Friends,

Some time ago, I sent out an email to all of you announcing the retirement of Cliff Brownstein as NATSAP's Executive Director, effective January 31, 2017. Now, I am very pleased to announce that, after a comprehensive search, we have found Cliff's successor right in our backyard. Megan Stokes, currently NATSAP's Director of Government and Public Relations, has been selected to become NATSAP's next Executive Director beginning February 1, 2017.

We received nearly 40 resumes of highly qualified people, which we whittled down to seven candidates, whom members of our Executive Committee and Cliff interviewed two weeks ago in our office in Bethesda, MD. We met with some very impressive people with substantial association management experience. But in the final analysis, it was Megan's experience, with NATSAP for the last 2+ years as well as prior government relations experience, that put her at the top of our list. She knows our members, understands NATSAP, works daily with our staff, and tirelessly puts forth top-level effort on behalf of NATSAP.

Megan will be working closely with Cliff over the next three months to assure a smooth and seamless transition. Please join me in welcoming Megan Stokes as NATSAP's incoming Executive Director.

The National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP) is a not-for-profit association whose members include Therapeutic Boarding Schools, Residential Treatment Centers, Wilderness Programs, and Young Adult Programs throughout the United States. Additionally, NATSAP has membership categories for Individual Professionals, Suppliers, and Students. NATSAP holds seven regional conferences in addition to its Annual Conference, presents webinars on various topics, conducts Outcomes Research, publishes a professional journal, a variety of newsletters, and more.
