Mt. Pleasant Academy Opens

Mt. Pleasant Academy opened in December 2011, to assist adolescents who may be struggling with sexual behaviors issues, sensitive sexual issues, sexual compulsive behaviors, pornography and digital addictions.

The goal at Mt Pleasant Academy is to separate ourselves from chronic sex offender treatment facilities and considers ourselves as more of a prevention program. We hope to educate our clients about what behaviors are appropriate and acceptable socially and setting healthy boundaries. By educating students about their previous behaviors and triggers we should help them avoid moving farther down treacherous path of sexual addiction. Our therapeutic team is trained in sensitive sexual specific issues effecting the adolescents and families.

Mt Pleasant Academy is a 16 bed facility working with clients, ages 12 to 18 years old. Located on 14 acres, students live in a 3,600 square foot log cabin. They have the opportunity to participate in experiential activities such as hiking and fishing. In addition to the various treatment aspects of our program we offer accredited academics to assist in their educational goals.
