Breaking ground on our new administrative/school building is a momentous occasion for the staff and students at Mountain Springs Prep. Academy. What better dignitaries to include in this exciting ceremony than our amazing team and students! It represents years of hard work and singular dedication to our mission of providing the best step-down care for students coming out of RTC's, Therapeutic Boarding Schools and wilderness programs.

As many people know, this building has been a goal that we have been working on for many years, and to have it now at this point, where it is becoming a reality fills our hearts with gratefulness. This new building is an outward manifestation of the inward work that our staff and administration do on a daily basis to help students improve their lives and be ready to return home or on to independent living, with courage, strength and a greater ability to handle whatever setbacks may come their way.

This new building will allow us to better serve our students, improve our depth and breadth of academic instruction and provide space for our growing population. Jon Larsen, Head of School, comments, "In this season of Thanksgiving, I want to express my gratitude for the many people who have helped make this ground breaking a reality, by believing in us and supporting the growth of Mountain Springs over the years!!"

Mountain Springs Prep. Acad. is a co-ed, step-down boarding school for adolescents ages 14-18. We specialize in helping student's step-down from a higher level of care (residential treatment or wilderness). Mountain Springs is designed as a practice environment where students have greater access to community involvement (through varsity athletics, University classes, employment/volunteering, and other extracurricular activities) and more opportunity to make choices. It is an experiential learning environment where students have the chance to bump up against challenges and learn from mistakes with mentoring and support. We utilize a strength-based and solution-focused approach. Mountain Springs provides a small, intimate environment with a highly individualized approach. Therapy is available off-site and the minimum length of stay is only 6 months. Mountain Springs is a proud member of the CERTS programs.
