Meridell Achievement Announce Expansion

We are excited to announce our new, free-standing, 22-bed unit, Hacienda, due to open October 1st, 2009. With these additional beds, Meridell can accommodate families in a timelier manner. We will still continue to serve children and adolescents, ages 5 to 17 years, offering psychiatric and neuropsychiatric programs on our 68 - acre campus. Meridell has nationwide agreements with insurers that cover this level of care.

Meridell Achievement Center is a medical-model residential treatment center, serving children and adolescents, ages 5 - 17 years. The center, on 68 acres in the Texas Hill Country, specializes in the treatment of children and adolescents who have emotional, behavioral and neurobehavioral problems. The traditional RTC specializes in the treatment of adolescents with a psychiatric diagnosis, such as major depression, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, and other related psychiatric issues. The neurobehavioral program is designed for children and adolescents who may have a neurological basis for their behaviors. Neuropsychological testing and a quantitative EEG are part of the diagnostic workup for this group. The onsite, fully accredited school, grades K - 12, is a charter, managed by the University of Texas. All of the teachers are certified in special education.
