The results of Living Well Transitions 2010 family survey are in, and the responses are overwhelmingly positive! In December of last year, an online survey was distributed to over 100 unique recipients, comprising roughly 90% of parents whose young adult children had participated in Living Well Transitions independent living program since the program began six and a half years ago. Here's some of what Living Well's parents are reporting:

In response to the statement "My young adult child was positively impacted by his/her participation with Living Well Transitions," 94% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed. Ninety one percent of respondents agreed or strongly agreed with the statement "My relationship with my young adult child has improved since beginning our participation with Living Well Transitions."

Brooks Witter, MA, LPC, Living Well Transitions' Clinical Intake Director, pointed out that "these responses really remind us of how powerful and transformative our work is to the families we serve. Our staff is an incredible group who really work from their hearts to effect lasting change in our clients' lives, and getting this kind of feedback really confirms our conviction that our model, vision, and dedicated staff instill tangible developmental changes in our clients and families."

When asked to rate the importance of various factors in choosing Living Well Transitions for their son or daughter, 86% rated the independent living model as "important or very important," and 86% also responded that the quality of staff was an "important or very important" factor in deciding to work with Living Well.

Living Well Transitions' independent living model provides each client a team of Masters' level therapists and social workers to help them identify personal values and goals and learn the necessary skills to create and sustain a lifestyle in service of their values. "So much of what we do is to help our clients discover who they are and find the courage within to make consistent strides towards what they value. Doing that outside of the imposed structure of a residential program really supports them in making the profound shift into a healthy young adult life," says Carl Baccellieri, a Program Manager with Living Well.
