Marie Rueve, MD, has joined Lindner Center of HOPE as the Medical Director of the Sibcy House residential assessment and intensive treatment program. She brings to the Lindner Center of HOPE's Sibcy House an approach of integrated care to address each facet of a patient's complex psychiatric history, focusing on their individual goals and expectations for improvement. She possesses not only an extensive background in psychopharmacology but also expertise in psychotherapy and a love of teaching. Her treatment philosophy centers on walking with patients through a comprehensive understanding of their illness and context, on to holistic, multi-disciplinary treatment approaches aimed at helping them live fulfilling and functional lives. Her expertise in leading diagnostic and treatment teams, especially in patients with complex co-morbidities, contributes to the impact that residential programs at Sibcy House can have on the lives of patients and families.
Dr. Rueve completed her undergraduate work in pre-medicine at the University of Dayton, and went on to medical school at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. She completed residency training in psychiatry through Wright State University hospitals and served as administrative chief resident in her final year of residency. Since completing her training, Dr. Rueve has accumulated intensive experience in treating psychiatric patients in various settings. Her experience spans acute inpatient units, psychiatric emergency services, and consultation-liaison psychiatry (psychosomatic medicine) - in which she is subspecialty board-certified - as well as psychotherapy and outpatient treatment.
Dr. Rueve has served as medical director of several units and clinical venues, most recently as Director of Psychiatric Services for Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pennsylvania, a recognized innovator in the delivery of healthcare. While at Geisinger, Dr. Rueve envisioned and founded a psychiatry residency training program to train physicians in the art and science of psychiatric practice. This position as residency program director follows on years of experience teaching medical students, physicians, and psychological trainees of all levels. Her dedication to teaching has earned her several teaching awards over the course of her career.
Dr. Rueve is delighted to be joining the esteemed group of clinicians at Lindner Center of HOPE, especially as she has been a student of Dr. Paul Keck (President and CEO of Lindner Center of HOPE) and Dr. Susan McElroy's (Chief Research Officer at Lindner Center of HOPE) vast research.
