La Paloma Treatment Center is opening a new outpatient treatment center on Brookhaven Circle in East Memphis to complement residential services provided at its main campus at 2009 Lamar Ave.

An open house for La Paloma Outpatient Services, 764 E. Brookhaven Circle, will be held from noon-2 p.m. on March 18.

The new facility is an expansion of the outpatient program provided on the 71-bed main campus, offering step-down support for patients leaving residential treatment as they transition into sober living. It will also serve as a freestanding option for patients who need treatment, but want to continue with work or school schedules in a more flexible program.

In Shelby County, it is estimated that more than 75,000 residents suffer from dependence on or abuse of alcohol or illicit drugs.

"Many people are unaware that addiction frequently occurs alongside mental and emotional disorders, and that treating both issues simultaneously dramatically increases the sustainability of long-term recovery," said Rob Waggener, CEO of Foundations Recovery Network that operates La Paloma Treatment Center. "We see a great need in Memphis for proven treatment methods that address the root causes of addiction."

Waggener was CEO of Lakeside Behavioral Health System in Memphis before joining Foundations Recovery Network. Paige Bottom is CEO of La Paloma Treatment Center.

"La Paloma Outpatient Services will provide a convenient and affordable treatment option for residents of greater Memphis.

La Paloma is a dual diagnosis rehabilitation center that provides treatment for drug and alcohol addiction and co-occurring disorders. This center is a highly specialized residential and outpatient facility with a complete, medically supervised alcohol and drug detox services.
