Similar to the most elite prep schools, The John Dewey Academy wants to be judged by the reputations of colleges which admit its graduates. In its quarter of a century history all (100%) graduates attend colleges of quality. Of that number more than seventy-five percent graduate from college. A third attend graduate school.

For the JDA class of 2009, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas arrived early. Dewey Graduates were admitted early decision and will attend Columbia University (2), Grinnell & Skidmore Colleges, The University of Chicago. One was denied admission. I remain confident I can reverse this rejection. Last year two were rejected but subsequently were admitted. Only one does not know her fate because she was counseled by the Dean of Admissions to apply regular decision.

Yearly college admissions becomes more competitive (hence difficult.) Since most Dewey students at best have performed perfunctorily academically prior, the length of my college recommendations exceed thirty pages because it is not possible to camouflage poor grades.
