On February 7, 2013, the Independent Small Programs Alliance (ISPA) awarded the Courage in Service Award to educational and therapeutic consultant, Judith E. Bessette, EdD from Nashotah, WI.
This was the first time this award has been given by ISPA in its nearly eight (8) year history, according to Andy Anderson, Founder of ISPA.
Anderson stated, "Judi Bessette overcame personal tragedy recently in losing her own son who had experienced difficult challenges in his life, yet never stopped ensuring her client families were being supported, directed and guided towards positive and productive outcomes. Courage, strength and service are three words that describe her. She continued giving when many would not have the strength to do so."
A 2003 graduate of the doctoral program in Leadership, Learning and Service at Cardinal Stritch University, Judi began her practice in 2006. Her company, Compass Educational Consulting, helps families find solutions for troubled teens and young adults.
Independent Small Programs Allianceis an alliance of small programs organized by Andy Anderson of Florida to help small schools and programs with small budgets, to help each other improve their visibility, academics and therapy for children, adolescents and adults.
