Heritage Schools, Inc., a nonprofit residential treatment center for at-risk adolescents, has announced Glen R. Zaugg as the new CEO. Zaugg replaces Heritage founder and CEO Gerald Spanos. Zaugg's experience working with, and prior to, Heritage Schools makes him an ideal successor.

Zaugg began working with Heritage Schools, Inc. in 1993 when he served as Chief Financial Officer. Since 2004 however, he has enjoyed his role of Chief Operating Officer, responsible for overseeing the operations of the company under the direction of Spanos.

Before working for Heritage Schools, Inc., Zaugg acted as Controller and as a member of the executive committee for Sundance. During his seven years with Sundance, Zaugg directed the company in all matters of finance, human resources, and employee benefits.

In addition to his extensive experience, Zaugg brings with him a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science, Accounting degree. Zaugg is also a member of the Provo Rotary Club.

Established by Spanos in 1984, Heritage Schools, Inc. serves as a psychiatric residential treatment center for adolescents with emotional, behavioral, academic and substance abuse issues. The non-profit School treats multi-level psychological and physiological diagnosis through a model of family involvement, relationship therapy, hard work and trust. Its interdisciplinary , licensed team of psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, teachers and therapeutic recreation personnel develop customized treatment plans for each adolescent. Heritage Clients are from across the country, with an average length of stay of 14 months. Heritage Schools, Inc. is fully accredited by the Joint Commission, Northwest Association of Accredited Schools, Certified Horsemanship Association and is licensed by the Utah State Department of Human Services. The innovative, relationship-based Heritage therapeutic model has attracted national recognition.
