On January 7, 2008, a new short-feature daily radio program will be launched by Heartlight (www.heartlightministries.org) called Parenting Today's Teens. The program is slated to be aired on over one thousand radio stations and available free via podcast through various internet sources including iTunes and internet radio stations.
The daily feature highlights important teen parenting principles from Heartlight founder and director, Mark Gregston, who has been dealing with struggling teenagers for the last 30 years. The goal of the radio program is to provide solid relational tools, insights and encouragement to help parent of teens and pre-teens and hopefully prevent them from needing a program like Heartlight down the road. It is just helpful information and won't be promotional of any programs or products.
Mark Gregston says, "If parents listen and implement the practical things we talk about, they'll be better equipped to deal with teens when they are spinning out of control. Radio stations have already told us there isn't another program like it, so we've already received approvals from several hundred stations."
