Greenbrier Academy clinical psychologist, Brent D. Slife, PhD was awarded an APA Presidential Citation at the annual APA conference in Boston, MA. This citation recognized Dr. Slife’s accomplishments in his promotion of a critical, self-reflective approach among psychologists toward their discipline, especially through the application of philosophical knowledge and modes of inquiry. The citation states, “Dr. Slife’s work has contributed significantly to the recognition of theoretical and philosophical investigation as an indispensible aspect of psychology’s enterprise…..” The staff and students at Greenbrier Academy congratulate Dr. Slife on this accomplishment.

Dr. Brent Slife is currently Professor of Psychology at Brigham Young University, where he chairs the doctoral program in Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology and serves as a member of the doctoral program in Clinical Psychology. He has been honored recently with several awards for his scholarship and teaching; he has authored more than 120 articles and six books and serves as a Fellow of the American Psychology Association. Dr. Slife also continues his psychotherapy practice of over 25 years, where he specializes in marital and family therapies.

Dr. Slife is a co-owner, executive board member, therapist/counselor trainer, family program facilitator, and consulting clinical psychologist at Greenbrier Academy. He is a full professor and comes to us during family programs and staff training. He is constantly available for counseling and consultation for Greenbrier Academy.
