Dr. Mark Dennison was announced as the new Headmaster of Greenbrier Academy. He has earned PhDs in both Counseling and Clinical Psychology and has many years of experience in school leadership and administration in both public and private schools.

For the past year Dr. Dennison has been deeply involved in both the therapeutic department of Greenbrier Academy as a therapist and later in the academic department as Academic Director. Under his direction the academic department has expanded to encompass college credit courses, a wider variety of subject matter, a more rigorous curriculum and higher scores on achievement tests.

This year, graduates from Greenbrier Academy have gone on to be accepted to a variety of colleges and universities including: Emory, Brown, University of St. Louis, Creighton, New York University and various others. One student was accepted to every single school she applied to and offered academic scholarships to nearly every one. The results speak for themselves. Dr. Dennison has done a phenomenal job as Academic Director and is a natural fit as Headmaster.

As Headmaster, he will continue to oversee the academic department as well as work with the various departmental heads and oversee the day-to-day operations of the school.

Dr. Dennison and our founder and owner, L. Jay Mitchell, have developed a complimentary, synergistic working-relationship that promises to enhance the excellence already found at the school. L. Jay will continue as a very hands on owner, organizing trainings on and off campus, assisting the Headmaster and Clinical Director, publishing and conducting research - which are the aspects of working at Greenbrier that he loves best.
